Chief Stephanie Spell

Chief Stephanie Spell heads the Community Engagement Department within the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.  As a member of Sheriff Kevin Rambosk’s executive command staff, she provides leadership for several law enforcement bureaus, including Public Information and Media Relations, Crime Prevention, Planning and Research, Victim Advocate, Senior Services, Minority Affairs and Volunteers.  Chief Spell has been with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office since 1987. Chief Spell earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Safety Management and a Master’s Degree in Administration. 

Chief Spell is an adjunct professor at Barry University and served as chairperson of board of directors of Leadership Collier Foundation. Spell is past president of the board of directors of Youth Haven and serves as vice president of the Naples Backcountry Fly Fishers Club.  Chief Spell also served on the Grievance Committee of The Florida Bar and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy’s Florida Executive Development Seminar, Leadership Collier, Greater Naples Leadership and Leadership Florida. 

Chief Spell was also named as one of the 2013 Women of Power by Florida Weekly, a 2018 Leading Lady by Naples Illustrated, a 2019 Women of Initiative by the Women’s Foundation of Collier County and was recognized as the 2018 Outstanding Community Citizen by the NAACP.  Chief Spell is a watercolor artist and an accomplished outdoorswoman who enjoys fly fishing, skeet shooting and adventure travel.
