Our Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers are committed to advancing inclusion, equity, and access for everyone. The work we do every day is, and always has been, in support of these ideals.
A trusted connector, from the very first year
In 2015, Nina Gray sat in a small office writing down a long list of food pantries, disability services, and help for seniors, veterans, families, and immigrants. Having worked with nonprofits for 31 years - from Avow (then Hospice of Naples) to Neighborhood Health Clinic - she had built a catalogue in her mind of the supportive services across Collier County. But she saw a giant chasm between so many well-meaning organizations and the people who had no idea how to reach them.
The idea of CRC was to be the connector, at no cost to the client - not to solve every problem, but to link people to answers, services, and solutions. Nina's prayer at the time was simple:
"For either the support to go forward, or the dignity to close down."
So began Collier Resource Center - an all-volunteer organization led by a hands-on founding board with deep nonprofit, legal, financial, and administrative expertise. Nina first met with the United Way of Collier County and the Collier Community Foundation to make sure CRC would complement, not duplicate, existing services. Both affirmed the need and encouraged her forward. That first year, Nina and three volunteers helped 60 people.
The organization has grown every year since - with full-time staff, a dedicated board, an army of devoted volunteers, and generous donors. In 2025, CRC served more than 2,018 clients in a single year, a record. Yet the model hasn't changed: to be a trusted connector, to help clients in their time of need, and to follow up until things are resolved.
